IBM HOUSE WARMING

Opening week activation for the move of the IBM office in Auckland

Client - IBM NZ

Agency - GPJ/ UNO LOCO

Role - Project manager

5 day event including: morning fitness classes,  official opening, community movie nights and community long lunch

Total guests: 1200

The formal office opening was on a Wednesday, IBM nailed the ultimate guest list and filled the building with inspirational people. CEO’s mixed with entrepreneurs and inventors, Central & local government, local indigenous iwi and international guests. It was a super cool crowd with serious cred. As for presenters… when the interim US ambassador is followed by Simon Gault celebrity chef.

Large-scale signage communicated key messages while also giving the environment a sense of “big” occasion, and stunning flowers were used with fantastic effect. IBM partners complimented the look and feel as well, adding some exceptional interactive elements. Food & Beverage was drop-dead hip, feeling more like a private party in Herne Bay than a corporate occasion. Of course some special additions from celebrity chef Simon Gault added to the Wow factor.

The high profile public event involved liaising between many stakeholders, Britomart train station, public, local central government, the Mayor of Auckland, the minister of Transport and the Hon Prime Minister. I managed the entire event covering every detail from large, complex logistics and health and safety considerations to theming and volunteers.

EO IGNITE

Role - Project manager

Voted best event for EO world wide 2015

Number of guest: 200

Entrepreneur’s Organisation (EO) is a worldwide peer-to-peer network of entrepreneurs. EO has over 60 members in New Zealand and over 11,000 globally. The members have to own or manage director of a business with an annual turnover of over US $1million dollars.

Each year, EO holds Ignite, an international learning and social event spanning three days. 2015 was New Zealand’s time to shine, and it was with great excitement that I project managed the event with 200 local and international entrepreneurs.

The theme of Ignite Auckland 2015 was ‘learning without walls’, leaving boring conference venues for beautiful places that triggered excitement, inspiration and awe among attendees, such as Gibbs Farm, Stoneyridge Vineyard on Waiheke Island, and The Cloud

Ignite was completed with exceptional speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds.

IBM DATA CENTRE

Opening of NZ DATA CENTRE

Client - IBM NZ

Agency - GPJ/ SOIRÉE

Role -  Project manager

Total guets - 100 (including Auckland Mayor)

IBM celebrated their new ‘no unauthorised access’ data centre by totally immersing them with interactive experiences. We took the adjacent roundabout and inflated a cubic 15m x 15m venue, which served as a multimedia backdrop from the inside. Over 100 people were greeted by a karakia ahead of an AV display beyond anything possible in an ordinary venue. Two DJs linked music to the visual media, a custom lounge bar served cocktails and guests interacted with the displays through motion sensor technology.

Number of guest 750 for conference - 1000 for the awards dinner

Bayleys Real Estate is New Zealand’s largest, full service Real Estate Company specializing in home sales, commercial and industrial property, farms and waterfront property.

Every year Bayleys Real Estate hold a conference and awards dinner and we work with them to ensure each one is more exceptional than the last. I was responsible for the overall management of both components which included management of the event timeline, management of the budget, overall event design and theming, catering, technical components, supplier management and stakeholder management as well as leading a team of 5 event staff. I also implemented new and efficient systems, while maintaining a high standard of service and professionalism and built and maintained excellent stakeholder and client relationships, ensuring repeat business.

The conference was held at the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland, one of Auckland’s premium waterfront venues. While the awards dinner and after party was held at Auckland’s Spark Arena, the country’s largest indoor arena. The awards dinner and after party are the heroes of the day with theming designed to take guests into another time, space or era. 2017 was the year of the tropical nightclub with bright neon lights and jungle- esque greenery which really delivered the ‘wow factor’. Entertainment was equally impressive and came in the form of dancers and celebrity comediant Jeremy Corbett. It was said to be one of the best years yet by Bayleys management.
